The end is the beginning is the end

It’s been an interesting past couple of weeks.

Apart from being filled with a great deal of work and extensive procrastination there have been some pretty wonderful moments. The weather seems to have hit a plateau for the past few days and the sun has been shining down, causing hundreds of students, surfers and Cornish folk to flock to gyllingvase beach in the hope of slightly altering their overall colour and enjoying a hearty splish-splash.

University is finished, I’m not returning for the third year, at least not to Falmouth and i’m immensely sad to be leaving. However, this is all in aid of furthering the Zoo For You agenda and will hopefully be moving to London soon after summer draws to a close. Bring it on!
We didn’t manage to secure a slot at this years WOMAD at Charlton Park, as it was entirely full up, but we have been advised to apply for next year’s festival. This is irritating because i’ll have to buy a ticket now.. and they cost about £150 this year (including Thursday), so i will have to sell a few more of my objects to cover it.

Work towards the end of term went rather smoothly. I made myself a pretty swish looking portfolio made up of a few drawings and mainly photographic work, coupled with a painting and the final images of my ongoing sculpture/photographic piece.. I passed the studio side of things. Now for a crack at the essays i’ve yet to complete..

I’ve been collecting various bits for the past academic year and beyond, but with final weeks of studio time looming I had yet to bring them together for any real purpose.
So, armed with my electric drill, a variety of rusty screws, a tube of contact adhesive and a roll of duck tape, I stormed into battle with the masses of crap I'd acquired.

Here are a few snaps of the resulting zone:

Chucking bits at other bits.

I constructed this little horror movie from a few recorded sounds and some stop motion I had floating around.

Put it on full screen and turn up the volume.

Advanced Human Bollocks

This plane is essentially just one single wing - perfect lift.

Bit sleepy, but hey.. WHOOSH     >

Project ARDA, or the Advanced Reduced Drag Aircraft is “the most evocative shape in aviation : a pure wing, unencumbered by tail surfaces or a fuselage, producing lift over every square meter of its surface. ". Richard P. Hallion (PhD), the US Air Force historian.
